Over the years, all of us will date, have girlfriends/boyfriends, fall in love, blah blah bollocks. If you don't have relationships in any manner, well than you're one of three things. 1) Ugly, b) Just have no game or 3) you're both. Moving on.
What happens when you see this ex-flame of yours? Is he/she with their new partner? Are they showing interest in you still? Did it end in such a negative way that you want to avoid that person at all costs? Or have you both had to much to drink, been caught up in the moment and your ex-flame has become your Mr./Mrs "right now?" I'm here to tell you that you can make your encounter with an ex whatever you want it to be...for the most part.
The first situation would be to have everything seem awkward between the both of you. You may be picking up girls, or maybe your making out with a guy. It's a moment where both of you wish you hadn't seen one another. The best thing to do in this situation is to avoid long conversation. Say a quick 'hello' and 'hope all is well' then haul ass away from that person. Since you probably never wanted to run into that person in the first place, this will allow you to get the hell away before it becomes really awkward. Make it short and get back to that skank or meat head you were conversing with in the first place.
If there is a bit of flirting going on from your ex but you want no part of it, there are a few things you can do. Be rude. Be blunt. Lie. Look for a quick out. Another road to travel, if you want to be on the nicer side, would be to act like you would love to stay and chat but you have to get back to your friends or even better you're girlfriend/boyfriend. Whether you're an asshole or a saint, again get out of there quickly to avoid temptation.
The third scenario is an easy one. If things ended badly in the past, don't even attempt to make a connection. Those hard feelings towards one another will still be there and talking to your ex will only bring those emotions back.
Finally, and my personal favorite, is if you meet up and things are "like old times." You broke up with that person for reasons neither of you could control (to travel, going off to school, moving for a job, etc.) and now the attraction is back. Your sexual chemistry is at an all time high since you haven't banged in a long time, so take advantage of one another and in short, find a room and make it happen.
All of us have ex's. And I personally don't believe that you can be friends with an ex, unless you were friends before you started dating. Usually people will date and be in a relationship before even being friends. Therefore, being friends after a break-up is disastrous. Give it up people, when it's over, IT'S OVER!
BREAKING SPORTS NEWS
The Montreal Canadiens have acquired Scott Gomez from the New York Rangers in exchange for Chris Higgins. Is it just me or has Montreal been trying to unload Higgins for years?
Staying in Montreal, Mike Komisarek has decided to test the free agent waters. His agent says that while the Canadiens remain a team of interest to the Komisarek camp, he will indeed see what he can fetch on the open market.
Jonas Gustavsson, considered the best goaltender outside the NHL will not decide who to sign with before July 1st. He will take the next week or two before deciding. Toronto, Colorado, Dallas and San Jose are the only teams in the running.
Yao Update: Houston Rocket Centre, Yao Ming may be out of action for a while. Reports indicate that Yao's ankle injury is causing major delays in his rehabilitation process. He is said to possibly miss the entire 2009-10 season and his career may even be in jeopardy. The Rockets are now stuck in between a rock and a hard place with free agency starting on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Quote of the Day: "Remember, if you smoke after sex you're doing it too fast." - Woody Allen
Perch Song of the Day: The woman with the most sex appeal, Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (remix)
Thumbs Up: Thumbs up to the Directors at the Wimbledon Tennis Championship for admitting to the world that "good looks" are taken into consideration when deciding which women will play at centre court...as it should be!
Thumbs Down: Thumbs down to the ridiculousness of showing RADIO shows on television. Why is it that 2 of the 3 main sports channels in Canadia show guys in the radio studio just talking? It's unacceptable and embarrassing.
Thanks for dropping by.

The Weekend Round-Up: Death, gay fever, sex, sports and more!
*See welcome note below this post.

This past weekend sure had it's ups and downs.
The world lost a pair of legends late last week in Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. These two could not have been more different, especially in the eyes of the public. FF was a blonde beauty who seemed to have a somewhat 'normal' life for a Hollywood starlet. She will be remembered for her beauty, pose and that heart twisting documentary
about her path to the grave. Jacko on the other hand was well respected for changing the music scene with his trademark dance moves and exceptional voice. But, let's be real...this guy was fucked up. Black or white? Child molester or child provider? Many questions need to be answered but if he is remembered for his music, which he should be, then he had an amazing career cut short. But, it's a negative world out there and there will always be people who will remember some of his screwed up decisions and fall from grace. Poor bastard, it truly is a sad ending to one of the best performers and most influential people of all time.
Perch Song of the Day: Katy Perry - Waking up in Vegas
Quote of the Day: Ron Artest - "King of Pop, Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays...bad week to be black, female, or have a beard. Oprah better watch her step."
Thumbs Up - Thumbs up to the much anticipated Bruno movie for cutting out the scene mocking the Jackson family. Deep down Sacha Baron Cohen is a class act!
Thumbs Down - Thumbs down to Michael Jackson's father. AT the BET Awards on Sunday night he took the time on the red carpet to promote his record label/company. Are you fucking kidding me you selfish, greedy, asshole.
Thanks for dropping by.

This past week in Toronto, Canada was Pride week. Considered one of the biggest gay festivals in the world, people from around the globe descend on Toronto for a week full of parties. It
concluded yesterday with the huge parade. Not being a full supporter of over the top, flamboyant gay activity, I still must say that this is one of the greatest parties in the world and fun for just about anyone. Gays, lesbians, trangender, straight, adults, children...everyone is out for a good time, including hundreds of straight, smoking hot women. Bars extended their drinking licences until 4am and this festival is a time to take a day to step out of your element and enjoy something truly exotic and different. Cheers to gay people around the world for definitely knowing how to put on a great party. But who exactly is going to be cleaning up the streets?
Week 2 - Garbage Strike
That brings us to the lazy-ass, public working dirt bags who are holding this city hostage by being on strike. This includes the suspension of garbage removal, ferry rides to the T.O. islands and many other public services. Unions are bull shit...period. Union workers don't know how good they have it especially in this economic crisis. For fucks sake, I wouldn't be able to get a job right now selling my body to a group of gay gang bangers for a penny. The garbage issue in particular makes the city look bad to tourists and upsets everyone living here. It's a joke. Get back to work you clowns before we bombard you with used condoms from Pride week.
SEX - the impact on a new relationship
Have you ever been dating someone and everything is going well, then you sleep with them? What happens then? Obviously everyone who has had sex, loves it (or you should and if you don't you have major issues) but is it possible that sex can end a relationship that is in the early dating stages? I think it's usually inevitable. When you start datingf someone, men - we try so hard. Buy this, buy that. Laugh here, laugh there. Thinking about your next move at all times. What is your end goal? Girlfriend? A no strings attached partner? Marriage? It's all bull shit. You want to get laid. End of story. I would go as far as saying it takes a solid 2, 3 even 4 months before a guy is mentally committed to a relationship beyond the sexual aspect. If the sex is good and it's with a cool girl then things will continue. But, if the sex is bad in the beginning I guarantee that most men will end things with that female...no matter what. As men, we do like the chase. If a guy says he hates the chase, he's lying. As bad as it may sound, we like to feel like we've accomplished something. That's how we are. Sorry ladies, but it's true. This DOESN'T mean that a guy doesn't truly like the gal, but it is still a conquering feeling once you have had sex with a girl you're dating. The pro to having sex early is that you will find out right away if there is that sexual chemistry that every good relationship needs. The con of having sex early is the risk that the male, or even female, will be missing out on that sexy, mysterious "chase", which in the end makes good sex, great sex. It also gives more potential to a relationship blossoming. It's a fine line, but ladies, if you're interested in a long term boyfriend I recommend taking more than a date or two before sleeping with him. Don't be a whore and don't be a prude...it's that fine line you need to be aware of. Sorry to cock block you men out there, but you'll appreciate the chase in the long run.
Sports Round-Up
The NBA draft was last Thursday. No surprise to see Blake Griffin go #1 to the LA Clippers. Reports indicate Ricky Rubio (5th overall) may not join Minnesota this season. Toronto took DeMar DeRozan who scouts say has the most potential in the draft. He should step right into the Raps rotation. VC to Orlando. Shaq to Cleveland...wow. I definitely recommend anyone with Twitter to follow Ron Artest's tweets. Hilarious.
The NHL draft was Friday night. Another no surprise at #1 - John Tavaras heads to the Island. Hedman at 2, Duschene at 3. A lot of talk but no trades.
Important date this week - FREE Agency starts July 1st. Enjoy the action.
Top Movie of the Weekend
TRANSFORMERS 2 -what male wouldn't pay $10 to see Megan fox run around in a tank top and booty shorts? Can you say hottest women in Hollywood? As the famous Lloyd Christmas quote says "Suck me sideways."
